Secret Santa List Template

Built for a family, workplace or friend group organizing a private Secret Santa exchange. An exchange can fail when partners draw each other, a participant is missed, the spending limit is unclear or assignments are revealed in a group message.

What is inside the free file

The workbook includes these working columns: Participant, Exclude pairing with, Assigned recipient, Spending limit, Gift address, Gift sent? and Private note. The example rows are part of the download, so you can see what belongs in each field before replacing them with your own information.

Use it for a real planning session

Collect the final participant list first and record any pairing that must be avoided. Agree on one spending limit before assigning names. Make the assignments privately, check that every participant gives and receives exactly once, then share each assignment individually. Set an order or shipping deadline and keep addresses and gift notes in the private organizer copy only.

The included example shows four participants, reciprocal exclusions, four different recipients, a $30 limit and separate shipping notes. Delete the examples before running your exchange.

When the paid workbook helps
